Biography
Dr. Rahaf Alharbi is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information at Pratt Institute in the Information Experience Design (IXD) program. Her research is at the intersection of human-computer interaction (HCI), accessibility, and disability studies. Specifically, Dr. Alharbi collaborates with blind communities to co-develop responsible AI techniques that foregrounds privacy and transparency. Another key thread of her research focuses on the experiences of neurodivergent people, and how technology plays a role in facilitating and hindering access. She earned her Ph.D. in Information from the University of Michigan, where her dissertation research received several awards. During graduate school, she interned at Microsoft and Meta as a User Experience Researcher.
