Radhi Majmudar, PE, MBA, MASCE, is a Structural Engineering Principal and Licensed Professional Engineer with 38 years of experience in the design, analysis, and construction of buildings, bridges, marine and coastal structures, and highly specialized structural systems. She is the Founder and Principal of Innovative Structural & Specialty Engineering PLLC (ISSE), a New York–based practice with additional office presence in Baltimore, Maryland; Berkeley, California; and Lisbon, Portugal. The firm is recognized for technically rigorous and creative engineering solutions that integrate architecture, performance, and sustainability.

Throughout her career, Ms. Majmudar has contributed to numerous high-profile and technically demanding projects. She served as the Professional Structural Engineer of Record for the iconic TKTS Booth in Times Square, a project that redefined the integration of structure and public space in New York City. She was also part of the engineering team for the original Apple Cube on Fifth Avenue at 59th Street, collaborating directly with the design team during its realization. Her portfolio includes many pioneering structural glass and façade projects that pushed the boundaries of transparency, minimalism, and structural expression.

Her technical expertise includes linear and nonlinear dynamic analysis for seismic and wind loading, long-span structural systems, advanced applications in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber including mass timber, as well as structural glass and façade engineering. She frequently performs independent peer reviews for complex and unconventional structures and works at the intersection of architecture and structural innovation.

In parallel with her professional practice, Ms. Majmudar has 30 years of teaching experience. At Pratt Institute’s Graduate School of Architecture, she has played an active role in strengthening and expanding the technical curriculum. In her early years at Pratt, she contributed to the development of foundational structures coursework and subsequently created a wide range of technical and interdisciplinary electives that broaden the integration of structural engineering within architectural education. She has taught ARCH 631 Structures I and ARCH 632 Structures II for 16 consecutive years, in addition to ARCH 663 Integrated Building Systems, ARCH 764 Architecture and Business, ARCH 765 Architecture and Entrepreneurship, ARCH 770E Glass in Structures, ARCH 770I Challenging the Boundaries of Structural Engineering Innovation, ARCH 854 History of Structural Design, and ARCH 853 Structural Composite Design. She has also taught at Columbia University and CUNY, bridging structural engineering, finance, and strategic thinking.

Ms. Majmudar holds degrees in Civil Engineering and Economics from Columbia University and earned her MBA from Columbia University. She remains actively engaged in professional leadership through the American Society of Civil Engineers and is deeply committed to mentoring architects and engineers who seek to expand the possibilities of structural design.
