Biography
Porie Saikia has demonstrated exemplary leadership by driving design excellence in civic architecture and championing innovative project delivery to enhance the built environment experience.
Porie Saikia’s contributions to the design and construction industry have included climate leadership, transportation initiatives, architectural design, innovative project development, management, and delivery on range of projects in both buildings and infrastructure in public and private sectors. Globally acknowledged, her passion for a sustainable built environment coupled with her ability to support & channel team expertise has led Porie to pioneer, create and deliver complex projects with multifaceted objectives.
Porie’s work experience at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority NY as Chief Architect and Senior Director of Environment, Energy & Sustainability, at international consulting company of CH2MHILL as the Business Vice President, as Executive Director at Asian University of Women Support Foundation in Cambridge & Bangladesh, as Program Manager at NYC Department of Design and Construction, as Senior Associate at the LiRo Group and as Design Architect at NYC Department of Environmental Protection, has compounded her strength in resource management, team building, project prioritization, program evaluation and project delivery. Together with Porie’s leadership tenets, these have afforded her to successfully deliver atypical programs such as post 9/11 transit projects, post disaster knowledge share platforms, establishment of new construction trends in a developing country, and increasing business revenues for private companies.
