Nora Almeida a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Pratt iSchool and an Associate Professor in the Library Department at New York City College of Technology (City Tech) where she is a member of the instruction and reference team and works on outreach initiatives. She teaches undergraduate place-based interdisciplinary courses at City Tech and is involved in teaching, organizing events, and public art making at Interference Archive, an all volunteer community space and open-stacks archive of social movement ephemera.

She is engaged in academic and non-traditional embodied research and artwork. Her scholarly research interests include: critical pedagogy, social justice, performance, neoliberalism, and place. Her book, the Social Movement Archive, co-authored with the librarian, Jen Hoyer, was published by Litwin Books in 2021. All of her publications, including the introduction to the Social Movement Archive, are open access and available to read here.
