Biography
Lynn Lin is a Chinese-Canadian industrial designer and multimedia artist based in New York City. Over the past decade, she has led the design and development of award-winning products across furniture, lighting, home goods, electronics, packaging, and collectible objects. Lynn has worked with global brands and boutique studios alike, most notably serving as Director of Industrial Design at Karim Rashid Inc., where she oversaw the creation of numerous market-disrupting consumer products from concept to production.
In 2023, she founded her own independent design consultancy and experimental studio. Through this platform, Lynn merges industrial precision with material storytelling, pushing the boundaries of sustainability, emotional resonance, and cross-cultural meaning in product design. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Milan Design Week, New York Design Week, Stockholm Design Week, and Design Miami, and recognized by institutions such as the Good Design Awards, NYCxDESIGN, and Interior Design’s Best of Year Awards.
Lynn holds a Master of Industrial Design from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Studies and Art History from the University of Toronto. In addition to her professional work, she is passionate about design education and mentorship. Since 2022, she has taught furniture design and studio courses at Pratt Institute and Parsons School of Design, where she encourages students to explore the intersection of storytelling, sustainability, and systems thinking in contemporary design.
