Biography
Mutchler’s most recent projects are a collaboration with Jason Urban (JULM Studios), and examine the purpose and functionality of the printed form and the use of handcraft through multi-participatory installations. Together they explore print through the handmade / hand-printed, the duality of actual and virtual, and experience and meta-experience. Mutchler received her BFA from Kent State University and MFA from the Tyler School of Art. Her work has been exhibited internationally and throughout the United States. Mutchler is Chair of the Foundation Department at Pratt Institute. Before arriving at Pratt in 2018, Mutchler was the Associate Chair for the Department of Art and Art History and Director of the AAH Core Program (Foundation program) at the University of Texas at Austin. Mutchler is a 2014 recipient of The UT System Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award.
