Kieran Micka-Maloy is an Energy Advisor at the Pratt Center for Community Development. He works with the Queens and Staten Island Regional Clean Energy Hub, which offers residents and small businesses wraparound clean energy and energy efficiency services, educational programming, and workforce opportunities aimed at increasing disadvantaged communities’ access to the green economy.

He is the lead author of the Regional Assessment and Barriers Analysis (RABA) for the Queens and Staten Island Hub. The RABA is an in-depth examination of the obstacles preventing low- and moderate-income (LMI) residents and disadvantaged communities in these boroughs from benefiting fully from the green energy transition.

Kieran completed his Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning at Pratt Institute’s Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment. During his studies, he worked as a Graduate Fellow at the Pratt Center contributing to projects like the NYCHA Climate Action Network and the BASE Campaign. He has also worked for organizations like TransitCenter, NYC DOT, Good Old Lower East Side, and Manhattan Community Board 6 in NYC, and for non-profits in India and Indonesia. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Studies from Cornell University.

A lifelong New Yorker, Kieran grew up between the Lower East Side, Manhattan and Sunnyside, Queens. He has lived in the same rent-stabilized apartment since he was two years old, and does not plan on giving up the lease anytime soon.
