Biography
Jelani Perez (he/him/his) joined the Pratt community in the summer of 2023. With a career dedicated to advocating for students of color and LGBTQ+ identified individuals, Jelani focuses on supporting all students both individually and at the complex intersections of their identities. He is committed to leveraging his experiences to effect positive change and foster an inclusive environment at Pratt. Jelani’s professional interests are centered around diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a particular emphasis on creating supportive and inclusive spaces within the residence halls at Pratt. He is dedicated to developing intentional programs that cultivate a sense of belonging for all students. A first-generation college student from the Bronx, New York, Jelani is an Afro-Latino Puerto Rican. Outside of his professional role, he is a husband, dog parent, older brother, and uncle.
