Biography
Frances (Fran) Northcutt Green, MEd, began her role as Pratt Institute’s Director of Undergraduate Advising in January, 2026. She leads a team of dedicated professional academic advisors who support students across Pratt’s 32 undergraduate degree programs. Fran is a tireless advocate for learning-centered advising. She believes that students succeed when they understand the logic of the curriculum and create meaning through their own choices and reflections.
Before coming to Pratt, Fran held advising roles at the University of California, Berkeley; the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia; the Macaulay Honors College program at Hunter College; and the Cooper Union School of Art. She also edited the advice books How to Get A’s in College and How to Survive Your Freshman Year. She lives in New York City with her husband and daughters.
