Visiting Assistant Professor Bill Levay recently led the launch of the rebuilt New York Philharmonic Shelby White & Leon Levy Digital Archives. The five-year project transitioned the Digital Archives from an aging, custom-built, on-premises system to a modern, vendor-supported, cloud-based digital asset management platform, with a redesigned public interface, improved search and discovery, and support for standards such as IIIF. Students from Pratt’s Center for Digital Experiences contributed usability testing that helped shape the new platform before its public launch. Explore the Digital Archives at archives.nyphil.org.
