  • This week alongside International Women’s Day, the Center for Equity and Inclusion is inviting the Pratt community to stop by and share their thoughts on womanhood. Read more @prattcei and see artwork by student Khushi Shah @prattinstitute.

  • Pratt is in the 2022-23 First-gen Forward cohort announced by the Center for First-generation Student Success, an initiative of NASPA—Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education and the Suder Foundation. The recognition is for higher education institutions that have demonstrated a commitment to improving experiences and advancing outcomes for first-generation college students. Pratt has been committing time and resources to its first-generation student population through the First-Generation Pratt committee established in spring 2020.   • Housing Justice for All, the Community Service Society, NYU’s Urban Democracy Lab, and Pratt Center for Community Development released a new report detailing how Black New Yorkers continue to face inequities when securing and maintaining permanent housing.

  • Undergraduate architecture student Megan Chen designed “The Journey to Rest and Relaxation” which explores creating a physically challenging landscape that would lead to a place for solitude and reflection. Read more @prattsoa.

  • Graduate architecture students Melissa Chua and Robin Smith designed “Cosmosis” that creates a vibrant community through integrating private and public space. Read more @prattsoa.

  • Manushi Ashok Jain, MS Urban Design ’17, was included in the 2022 Forbes India 30 Under 30. The list highlighted her co-founding of the Sponge Collaborative planning and design firm that has worked on sustainable integrated housing, mobility, and infrastructure solutions around the world.
