Dean of the School of Architecture Quilian Riano was asked by Time to nominate a monument or building that encapsulates the spirit of America for the country’s 250th anniversary. Riano chose Hunter’s Point South for being “an example of how infrastructure built to adapt to increased risks for flooding can be leveraged to secure land for high-density, affordable housing.”
