Ananya Yadav, MS Information Experience Design ’26, received a Graduate Student Engagement Fund (GSEF) award for presenting her project, “Do You Even Want To Be Offline?,” at the 2026 Information Architecture Conference. About the project: 74% of people who tried to reduce their screen time couldn’t. Her research explores why the tools meant to help are part of the problem, proposes a framework for designing digital wellness tools that put the life behind the screen first, and asks if we truly even want to be offline. This work was also presented at InfoShow26.
