MSCI-451P Climate Crisis, Local Communities, and Flexible Strategies: Quinhagak (alaska)
5:00 pm – 7:50 pm
North Hall, 107
In this interdisciplinary course, we analyze how the current climate crisis is negatively impacting some local communities around the world, but with a special focus on the Native Alaskan community of Quinhagak. We collect data on these impacts through techniques such as digital mapping and assess the main needs of these communities. Finally, we design solutions that could be applicable in real life in order to facilitate the sustainability of these communities facing this ecological crisis.
