HEOP ADMISSIONS PROCESS
HEOP applicants must be a resident of New York State, and a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident.
First-year Students
Admission to the Higher Education Opportunity Program, HEOP is based on academic and economic eligibility. Candidates are invited for an interview by a member of the HEOP staff once a candidate is deemed academically and economically eligible, and demonstrates strong motivation for a college education.
Transfer Students
Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 for consideration. Verification of enrollment in an opportunity program (EOP, HEOP, SEEK, CD) is required for transfer eligibility.
First-year Summer Program
All first-time students must attend the HEOP first-year summer program in addition to the college’s regular summer orientation. The summer program for HEOP is five weeks in duration during the month of July-August. Its primary focus is to orient the student to HEOP and begin a formal introduction of the expected academic rigor, and support resources available at Pratt Institute.
