Resilience, Wellness and Well-being Programs

We offer stand-along and on-going programming throughout the year. The well-being calendar helps you stay up to date on new events hosted by Pratt as well as outside organizations.

COMPOSE Series

A series of personal and professional development workshops focused on establishing a personal practice. Courses are framed around the concepts of learned optimism, resilience and meaning-making. COMPOSE’s ultimate goal is generating well-being pedagogies for across the institute and contributing to a radical improvement of student flourishing across the Pratt campus.

Mindful Pratt

Mindful Pratt organizes and sponsors various opportunities to engage with mindfulness throughout the year. Along with a series of weekly virtual meditation drop-ins, we host an annual Week of Mindfulness, bring in guest speakers to lead practices on campus throughout the year, and offer more individualized class, organization, or office visits that we can tailor for your group.

Meditation Incubator

The Meditation Incubator at Pratt Institute is a 10 week program for faculty, students, alumni and staff. Learn to meditate and use visualization to deepen presence in creativity, enhance emotional intelligence, and articulate a success action plan that you define.

The Mental Health Advocate Program

The Mental Health Advocate Program provides an opportunity for Pratt students to gain knowledge of mental health concerns and resources to encourage their peers to seek care. We invite any student interested in sustaining a culture of well-being and support to join the Mental Health Advocate Program today.

Art of Health & Well-Being

A one-credit course through Pratt’s Yoga Meditation & Movement (YMM) classes. Students will cultivate a well-being mindset and behavior by exploring the essential related principles, factors, and practices. Encouraging a sense of supportive community of well-being practitioners and leaders, students will learn to guide each other toward meaning and engagement in their studies and lives, while developing effective life skills. Talk to your advisor about enrolling.

Getting Started: Meditation and Mindfulness (New Program!)

This 5-week course will help build a foundation for a meditation and mindfulness practice. Participants will learn the fundamentals of these practices, practice in a group setting, and reflect on their experiences together. We are offering two virtual opportunities to take this course this semester and the opportunity to sign up for an asynchronous option.
