A grid displaying various gel-type materials, including Agar, Gelatin, and different combinations with Eggshell, Sodium Alginate, Kappa Carrageenan, and Tapioca Starch. Each material is represented by colorful blobs or flat shapes. On the right, two white textured cylindrical objects are shown: a small round container viewed from above and a larger cylindrical container.

The objective of the project is to explore the feasibility of utilizing bio-materials as a sustainable and appropriate option for luxury packaging in the beauty industry, with the goal of minimizing packaging waste and its adverse effects on the environment. The European Commission has established a target of making all packaging distributed in the EU reusable or recyclable by 2030. Consequently, the project was initiated to aid La Mer, a high-end skincare brand motivated by the ocean, in reassessing their packaging materials.
