Place of Plenty, Jayme Markus-Fisher
Medium: Digital Animation A "place of plenty" can be found in the most ordinary of places. This short animation, rendered in a warm ink-wash style, finds a child and an elder crouched together over a puddle. The puddle reveals a view into the child's abundant imagination, stirring their galactic cauldron. Children are quick to remind us that curiosity blooms even in the mundane, and that can generate momentum for creativity for all who are near. As the elderly friend gives the generous gift of presence in this scene, their abundant imagination is reawakened as a result of this shared experience. This piece grew directly out of Pratt SCPS's AI Design Certificate, particularly its emphasis on bringing human experience into the creative process first. Before opening any tool, I asked myself when I felt abundance viscerally. The answer? When I am with my toddler playing in puddles. I used AI for early style research and built an AI agent to question and sharpen my concept with strategic thinking, and then guided by the course's grounding in ethical reference use and precise visual language I used Seedance.ai for visual generation.
