Global Solutions, Local Impact: Decarbonizing New York’s Buildings

By In Cho, Tony Daniels, and Nikki Evans

"New York is advancing some of the nation’s most ambitious climate goals under Local Law 97 and the CLCPA. Delivering deep emissions reductions will require a robust, skilled workforce capable of scaling retrofits, electrification, and high-performance building systems.

This panel explores global models, such as leading efforts in Scotland and Ireland, where coordinated training ecosystems align policy, industry, and hands-on workforce development. Panelists will examine how these approaches, along with innovations in retrofit delivery and modern methods of construction (MMC), can accelerate progress in New York.

Building on these insights, the discussion will examine how New York is aligning workforce development, industry partnerships, and delivery systems to meet its building decarbonization goals at scale."
