Distilled Abundance, Maria Aurora Ford
Medium: Digital This series started with posters found on the street; layers of flyers and notices pasted over each other, each with its own font, color, and texture, all shouting for attention. That visual clutter was the starting point. Every poster here is a distillation of it: the same message, stripped down until only its essence remains. Black and white make up the quiet left behind. Red is used only once per piece, in place of the color that used to compete for space on the original surface. Used this way, it carries more weight than it would in a crowded composition; one note held, instead of many. The posters don't explain themselves further. They rely on restraint to do the work.
