Before and After Body Retouch, Madeline Vitale

Medium: Digital

“I was encouraged by my professor Sonya Shannon to submit this piece because it exemplifies a new skill that I learned in her class that I feel opened my eyes to a whole new facet of the design world. While I am still very much interested in graphic design, I had no idea how much I would enjoy photo retouching until I took the advanced photoshop class. As someone who is attempting a career change into the design field and still figuring out what I am interested in, I am very grateful for these classes that have been expanding my horizons and knowledge!”

Side-by-side studio photographs of the same woman with long red hair seated on the floor against a white backdrop. She wears neutral-toned undergarments in both images. The left image shows her in a beige set, leaning slightly back with her left arm supporting her. The right image shows her in a light-sage set, in a similar pose but with subtle retouching that smooths her skin and alters body contours. Both portray calm expressions and relaxed posture.
