Weather Alert

Tuesday, January 27, 2026, classes are in session and the Institute will be operating as usual.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of our Facilities team, Pratt’s campuses are in good shape after yesterday’s snowstorm and are ready for our community to return. We recommend caution as you move about, as pathways may freeze overnight.

Because of the amount of snow removal, portions of the parking lots may be blocked by stacked snow, particularly in Lot C (behind Stabile Hall) and Lot D (Cannoneer). We encourage you to be mindful of this as you plan your commutes throughout the coming week. Please watch NYC.gov for your travel updates. If you are located on or near campus and have mobility issues, please contact Campus Safety for assistance at 718.636.3540.

Monday, January 26, 2026: With the predicted snowstorm beginning Sunday, January 25, 2026, in New York City and continuing into Monday, January 26, Pratt Institute has decided to cancel classes and restrict public access to the physical campuses. Pratt community members who must be on campus are urged to refrain from moving through areas where the Facilities staff are actively removing snow and ice.

Classes

Classes are canceled on Monday, January 26. Following Pratt’s weather and emergency policy, instructors may ask students to complete asynchronous activities or hold online class meetings or office hours, if feasible. No instructor or student will be penalized if they are unable to participate in online meetings due to weather or emergency conditions, such as power or internet outages, though students may be asked to complete any make-up work they have missed. Classes will meet at their regularly scheduled times on Tuesday, January 27, unless additional cancellation notices are issued.

Pratt Institute Libraries

All access to the libraries will be remote on Sunday and Monday.

Residential Students

All residence halls are open throughout the snowstorm. The Dining Hall will be open from 10 AM to 8 PM on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday and return to regular hours on Tuesday.

Administrative Offices

The Institute’s administrative offices will be open remotely for business on Monday. Weather-essential personnel should report to campus. All other non-essential staff should arrange remote work schedules with their supervisors.
