Policy

Office of the Provost

State authorization is a longstanding requirement in the Higher Education Act that requires institutions to be authorized in the state where they are located as a condition for eligibility to receive Title IV Federal student financial aid.

Pratt Institute is an approved member of The National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) which New York is a member.

Pratt Institute programs that Lead to Professional Licensure in New York State are Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Art and Design Education, Art Therapy and Dance/Movement Therapy. For these programs we highly recommend that you contact the appropriate state licensing agency in the state in which you reside or the state where you intend to work to seek the most up-to-date information about state licensure requirements before beginning a program.
