An exhibition of work by students in grades 7 through 12 who have won national awards from the Scholastic Art & Writing program will be on view at the Pratt Manhattan Gallery (144 West 14th Street) from June 5–14. The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, features 134 pieces of photography, ceramics and glass works, and writing. The Scholastic Art & Writing program has a longstanding history of spotlighting promising young American artists, including previous winners such as Pratt alumnus Robert Redford as well as Lena Dunham, Andy Warhol, Stephen King, and Joyce Carol Oates. The awards are an important bellwether of where American teenagers will take art and writing in the future.
