design boom blog recently featured proposals by master's degree candidates from Pratt's Graduate Architecture program that focus on the future of post-industrial towns in Upstate New York. The proposals include a prototype “pioneer district” located in Poughkeepsie that was designed to become an economic engine that provides space and opportunities to create significant industrial, commercial, and affordable housing growth. The work will be on view as part of Pratt's Green Week celebration in the lobby gallery of Higgins Hall at 61 St. James Place at Lafayette in Brooklyn from March 26–30, 2012.
