Pratt Institute was rated one of the country’s top colleges for animation in the 2018 Animation School Rankings recently published by Animation Career Review, a comprehensive source of information on animation, graphic design, and digital arts schools and careers.

Pratt has increased in the rankings from last year, ranking fifth nationally (up from eighth in the 2017 rankings), placing in the top three percent of schools considered. Additionally, Pratt was ranked fifth nationally among private schools (up from seventh in the 2017 rankings), second on the East Coast (up from third in the 2017 rankings), and second in New York. In addition, Pratt was ranked highly in two categories not included in the 2017 rankings, placing fourth among schools offering an animation-related MFA and fifth among schools offering an animation-related BFA.

Animation Career Review considered hundreds of schools across the United States with programs geared toward animation or game design. Rankings were based on academic reputation, admissions selectivity, depth and breadth of the program, financial value, and geographic location.
