As part of Alumni Day and Reunion 2014, Pratt will present its third annual Alumni Art and Design Fair on Saturday, September 20 on the Brooklyn campus. Pieces for sale will include paintings, clothing, accessories, ceramics, cards, and books created by more than 25 talented Pratt alumni.
Highlights from the fair include socially-responsible goods such as all-natural apothecary products by Nina Zilka and David J. Krause of Alder New York (B.F.A. Fashion, ’10), reclaimed wood jewelry by Vanessa Chew (M.I.D. ’10), and ecologically-conscious soaps by Tippy Tippens (M.I.D. ’05) from curated pop-up shop stopTHINKshop (TYTHEdesign, Kristina Drury, M.I.D. ’09); colorful, printed scarves from The Brooklyn Block that were created from processed videos of Brooklyn neighborhoods (Sanksshep Mahendra, M. Arch and Urban Design ’09 and Namrata Vansadia, M.S. Communications Design ’10); Indian block-printed children’s clothes and accessories by MUNY (Samara Mahendru, M.S. Communications Design ’02); and palm-sized vessels created from precious metal clay by Donna Greenberg (B.F.A. Printmaking ‘74).
Participating alumni artists will be on hand to personally show and sell their work in their own booths across the Brooklyn campus. The all-day, outdoor event will run from 10 AM to 4 PM and is free and open to the public.
