Pratt Institute will exhibit pieces in booths at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), North America’s premier platform for contemporary design. One booth will showcase works by Pratt alumni entrepreneurs whose companies are part of Pratt’s design business incubator, the Brooklyn Fashion and Design Accelerator (BF+DA), while the other booth will display pieces by students in the Department of Industrial Design.

BF+DA: Redefining Business as Usual, housed in booth 417, will feature textiles, apparel, and tabletop designs, and more including Francis Bitonti Studio’s “Cloud Collection” of 3-D printed home goods and Really Brothers’ eco-friendly toys where the product is the packaging. Located in Williamsburg, the BF+DA provides an interdisciplinary workspace for startups with access to diverse resources including micro-run apparel production and high-tech digital fabrication facilities, and business-development mentoring.

Pratt Institute Industrial Design: Discovering Brilliance, based in booth 1279, will include an array of inventive furniture designs by current students, highlighting the creative breadth of the Institute’s Department of Industrial Design. The booth will feature designs that imagine new structural innovations for furniture and combine cutting-edge digital and traditional production techniques.

ICFF will be held May 17 to 20 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on 655 W. 34th Street in Manhattan.
