WHO: Pratt Artists League (PAL), a student-run organization, will present an exhibition of work by 23 second-year master of fine arts students. The exhibition, titled “NO TREND,” showcases work that is either new, not widely exhibited, or that demonstrates a more experimental sensibility for each of the participating artists.
The exhibition is guest-curated by Jamillah James, an independent curator and writer who recently completed a year-long curatorial fellowship at the Queens Museum of Art. James curated the museum’s summer exhibition, “NOT THE WAY YOU REMEMBERED,” and is currently co-curator of the museum’s biennial survey of artists living or working in Queens. She has curated exhibitions in Chicago and Baltimore, and edits the visual arts blog FRONTIERS.
PAL serves as a liason between the fine arts administration and the graduate student body and seeks to further professional relationships for students in the New York arts community through organizing and executing open studios and on and off-campus exhibitions and events.
