Pratt Institute has been rated one of the country’s top graphic design and illustration colleges in the 2020 rankings published by Animation Career Review (ACR), a comprehensive online resource for aspiring professionals in animation, digital art, game design, graphic design, and related fields.

Among graphic design schools, Pratt ranked third (up from sixth in 2019), placing it in the top one percent of the more than 700 colleges surveyed. In private graphic design schools and colleges, Pratt ranked third in the country (also in the top one percent and up from sixth in 2019). In addition, Pratt was second nationally among schools offering a Graphic Design BFA (up from fourth in 2019), third on the East coast (up from sixth in 2019), and first among New York colleges with graphic design programs (up from second in 2019).

In ACR’s illustration rankings, Pratt was rated sixth (in the top five percent) out of nearly 150 schools surveyed with illustration programs across the United States. The Institute was ranked fifth nationally among private illustration schools and colleges, fourth on the East Coast, and third in New York.

ACR considered hundreds of schools around the United States with programs geared towards graphic design and illustration. The rankings are based on academic reputation, admissions selectivity, depth and breadth of the program, and financial value.
