Scott Shushan works on understanding the concept of responsibility. In doing so, he asks, what does it mean that we are responsible for our thoughts and actions? How do we determine what we are responsible for? Do other people play a role in determining this? And even if we can figure out what we are responsible for, how then do we take responsibility? His current research project argues that we cannot make intelligible the concept of responsibility without being clear on how we, as thinkers and agents, are committed to ideas, beliefs, and most importantly each other. Scott has taught a wide variety of classes including: Aesthetics, Ancient Philosophy, Philosophy and Film, Ethics, Introduction to Philosophy, and Philosophy of Human Nature.
