Biography

Founder of Interim Design, an architectural and interior design practice based on undergraduate thesis “An Interim Architecture,” that addressed the 15-Year War in Lebanon and the redevelopment of the Beirut city center; both thesis and practice focus on the communication of information through spatial design and the notion that we are all living in an interim state, one which is constantly evolving and reacting to our surroundings and our lives, and which is expressed both in built and unbuilt work; has collaborated with Paik Architecture and Construction and Atelier Christian de Portzamparc (for U.S. projects) and has worked for I.M. Pei and Rafael Vigñoly; held the winning entry for the international theoretical competition, Unbuilt Architecture with her Lightninghouse design in 1994; published several times in Abstract, and was recently awarded a CIDA Innovation in Interior Design Merit Award; a committed educator and adjunct assistant professor at Columbia University, GSAPP, teaching Introduction to Architecture Design Studio.
