Biography

Richa Agarwal is a social entrepreneur with deep multi-sector experience in managing cross-functional global teams and leading innovation for organizations such as Calvin Klein, Polo Ralph Lauren, Eileen Fisher, The Gates Foundation and the global NGO BRAC. Having spent many years working at the intersection of the global apparel industry and international development, Richa's forte is design innovation, operational excellence and streamlining supply chains via the use of strategic technology. Richa's passion for the international artisan sector has resulted in her latest ecommerce venture - Global Shokunin an online platform connecting marginalized artisans directly to global consumers. Through the Global Shokunin platform, Richa is also creating employment opportunities for immigrants and refugee artisans in New York city. Richa teaches graduate level courses in Design Management and International Business at the Pratt Institute. She is the recipient of several academic scholarships, a frequent speaker at conferences and Aspen Institute's Business and Society Fellowship finalist.
