Meena Hasan is a visual artist born in 1987 and raised in New York City. She received her B.A. in Studio Art from Oberlin College in 2009 and her MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Yale School of Art in 2013, where she won the Carol Schlosberg Memorial Prize for Painting. In 2010, she was awarded the Terna Prize Affiliated Fellowship at the American Academy in Rome. She has participated in a number of group exhibitions including Sheherezade's Gift at the Center for Book Arts, NY, Stages at Zürcher Gallery, NY, Bosch Young Talent Show at The Stedelijk Museum, Den Bosch, The Netherlands, Premio Terna 02 at the MAXXI Museum, Rome, IT, SPREAD at Left Field Gallery, San Luis Obispo CA and most recently Yin/Yang at 0.0 Gallery in LA. Meena presented a solo exhibition of her work titled Meena Hasan's New Place at Violet's Cafe, NY in 2015. Recent two-person and solo exhibitions include wallflower frieze at 6BASE, NY, PoVs at The Peddie School's Mariboe Gallery, NJ, where she was a visiting artist and lecturer and Meena Hasan & Tommy Kha at LaunchF18 Gallery in Tribeca, NYC in May, 2019.
