Mattia Casalegno is an interdisciplinary artist, live-media performer and installation artist whose relational, immersive, and participatory work is influenced by both post-conceptualism and digital art. His practice explores the effects new media have on our societies, investigating the relationships between technology, the objects we create, our subjectivities, and the modes in which these relations unfold into each other. He performed and exhibited in institutions such as LACMA and YAA Museum in US, MUTEK (Canada), MACRO Museum and Romaeuropa Festival (Italy), UPDATE Biennial and Budafabriek Kunstcentrum (Belgium), La Oficina de l'Arte (Argentina), Optronica (UK), Le Cube Contemporary Art Museum (France), OFFF (Spain), AVIT (Germany) and Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts (Taiwan). His work is been featured in publications such as A Touch of Code(Gestalten Books), New Media DesignÂ (Sometti), and Deleuze and Audiovisual Art(Manchester Metro University), and in Artforum, the Wall Street Journal, Art Tribune, Hyperallergic, Creative applications, Digicult, Art F City, WMMNA. He received grants and fellowships from, among others: the Center for Cultural Innovation, New York Arts Foundation, the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts (US), the Young Italian Artists Network (IT), and the Chronus Arts Center (CH).
