Louis Sepulveda is entering his second season as the head coach of women's volleyball at Pratt Institute. In year one, Sepulveda led Pratt a record of 12-8 (3-1 HVIAC), an improvement of five wins from the previous season. Using an up-tempo offense, the Cannoneers advanced all the way to the HVIAC championship match before falling to defending champion New Rochelle. Sepulveda comes to Pratt having experience both as a head coach at the high school level and an assistant coach in the college ranks. Sepulveda has also coached club volleyball for the last nine seasons. Sepulveda was an assistant at Nassau Community College where he was in charge of the setters and implementing a fast-paced offense. In his tenure, he helped the Lions win three straight regional titles, as well as, three straight trips to the National tournament. At Island Tree High School in Levittown, NY, Sepulveda had success turning around a program that was 2-14 prior to his arrival. He led them to an overall 15-8 record in his first year and a 15-1 mark in his second year, culminating with a conference championship. Sepulveda left Island Tree to accept the role of head coach for Baldwin High School on Long Island. During his tenure, the Bruin’s program has enjoyed success building up the program that made the playoffs each season while reaching the county finals on two occasions. As a player, Sepulveda was a setter and played college volleyball for Queensboro Community College and Navy. He played his club volleyball for Big Apple New York. Coach Sepulveda has had some great influences in his life, learning from the likes of Russ Rose, Bob Bertucci, and John Kessel. He continues to play both on the beach and indoors. He has spent eight years coaching at Sportime Volleyball Club, where he has coached 14's, 15's and 18's with great success. Sepulveda earned his Associate’s Degree from Westchester Community College and his Bachelor’s in Communications and Media Arts from the State University of New York at Oneonta. Sepulveda is married and has one son. They enjoy spending quality time together.
