Biography

Leslie Roberts encodes language into geometric structures, working in paint and mixed media. She is represented by Minus Space, with her most recent solo show in 2019. Her work has also been included in solo and group exhibitions in New York City and nationally, at spaces including Davidson Gallery, McKenzie Fine Art, Pierogi Gallery, PPOW Gallery, Tiger Strikes Asteroid New York, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Weatherspoon Art Museum. Her work has been discussed in Artforum, the Brooklyn Rail, the James Kalm Report, Two Coats of Paint, and other print and online publications. Roberts received two Faculty Research Grants from Pratt. She has been awarded residencies at Yaddo, Ragdale, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and Skowhegan. Born in North Carolina, she lives and works in Brooklyn.
