Laura teaches at New York University and Pratt Institute on themes related to sustainability, new media, and political theory. She regularly attends global environmental conferences on urgent issues such as sustainable urban development, climate change and biodiversity loss as part of her work with the International Institute for Sustainable Development, and makes a point to relate class discussions to the unfolding environmental crisis and issues of concern to the students. She has ten years of work experience at the United Nations (UN) and the private sector in Japan, the UK, Switzerland, Haiti and the USA. Her research at New York University focuses on the uses of new media and communications in climate change activism.
