Biography

Helene Nguyen trained as an architect at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and received her masters from the Critical Curatorial and Conceptual Practices in Architecture program at Columbia University. With the support of Princeton University, her present research focuses on the intersection between biomedicine and media, and the shaping of the “patient” body as an archive of representational effects. Central to this work is diagnostics as a method of hermeneutical inquiry and the sciences of human difference in the early twentieth century.
