Biography


Gonzalo Lopez holds a Masters in Architecture from the Architecture School of Barcelona (ETSAB) and is PhD Candidate in Sustainability and Urban Regeneration at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Currently Visiting Assistant Professor at Pratt Institute, Lopez has previous academic experience as Adjunct Professor at New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Lopez is co-founder of knitknot architecture, a collective platform of architects, urban designers, researchers and artists. The collective was awarded in 2015 with the prestigious prize Europan, in Norway, the runner up prize in the City of Dreams Pavilion competition in 2017, and are currently building a school in El Jicarito, Nicaragua, after completing a successful crowdfunding campaign in collaboration with the NGO Seeds of Learning.
