Gillian Kaye is an international collaboration and planning consultant and coach with expertise in organizational capacity building, coalition building, strategic planning, community organizing and facilitating and designing community and cross-stakeholder collaboration. She coaches with organizational teams, leaders, activists, and individuals who are values-driven and aspiring towards grounding, transition and change in their lives and work. Her more than 35 years of experience in the field of community and organizational development include working as the Director of Strategic Planning and Governance for the Union for Reform Judaism and as Director of Neighborhood Services and Training for the Citizens Committee for New York City, a non-profit technical assistance organization servicing over 15,000 grassroots neighborhood groups. She served as an agency Chief of Staff for the New York City Mayor’s Office and after Hurricane Sandy as Director of the Brooklyn Community Foundation’s Brooklyn Recovery Fund, helping to fund and promote effective community coalition-led disaster recovery in Brooklyn’s neighborhoods that were hardest hit by Sandy. Over the past four years, she has been a Senior Consultant and Affilitate Consultant with Community Resource Exchange and she is an Assistant Visiting Professor at the Pratt Institute in the Planning and Place Making graduate program. As a consultant, she works with foundations, communities, city, state and federal governments, universities and non-profit organizations in the United States and abroad. Gillian has been retained as an on-going consultant with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and many other leading foundations to support and develop technical assistance and training systems and community collaborations, coalitions and partnerships at the city, state and federal level. She has also authored and co-authored many books, manuals, articles and training curricula on coalition building, grassroots organizing and community engagement
