For two decades, Michael Sarno was part of an amazing team that envisioned, designed, and developed Ralph Lauren’s Furniture Collection. He rose through the ranks- from creating renderings of furniture, tabletop & lighting, to overseeing the design development of multiple collections & brands. Michael has traveled extensively overseas, antique shopping all over Europe, as well as full-size prototype review trips in factories throughout Asia...Besides designing countless furniture collections over the years, he has also developed interiors & lighting, as well as commercial showrooms. His designs have been, and continue to be, featured in many national & international magazines, including: Architectural Digest, World of Interiors, Elle Décor, House & Garden, New York Times Design Magazine, Wallpaper, Surface, etc. He studied undergraduate Architecture at Temple University in Philadelphia, culminating with a semester abroad in Rome, Italy. He then turned his focus to Industrial Design, and studied at Pratt Institute, where he acquired his Master’s Degree...Since 2014, Michael has been proud & honored to educate Industrial Design students at both the Undergraduate and Graduate levels, at Pratt Institute...He actively teaches Light & Space Design and Furniture Design. He has also taught Portfolio & Professional Branding, and a course he developed on Lifestyle Design. In 2018, Michael left Ralph Lauren and opened STUDIO MARENZO, a multi-disciplinary Design Atelier, focusing on creating elevated Interiors, Furniture, Lighting, Objects, and Branding.
