Biography

Trained as an architect; practice based in interior architecture and interior designer, development of furnishings and selection of art. Prior to launching dale cohen designstudio, Senior Architect at Ingrao and lead designer for the renovation and restoration of Gracie Mansion, under the Bloomberg administration, for Drake Design Assoc. Recipient of the Hamptons Cottages & Gardens Innovation in Design Awards; Winner in Bath Design, Finalist in Interiors, Finalist in Kitchen Design. Recipient of New York City Cottages & Gardens Innovation in Design Awards; Finalist - Small Spaces. + + + dale cohen designstudio’s installations include; Watchcase Art & Design Installation in Sag Harbor, 2016. Hamptons Designer Showhouse, 2013; Holiday House Hamptons edition, 2013. Invited speaker at the Architectural Digest Home Show’s New York Times Designer Seminars in 2012, 2013 and 2014. Appeared on LXTV’s OpenHouse NY with bachelor client Constantine Maroulis in 2010. + + + Architectural leadership; chair of the AIANY Interiors Committee, 2011-2014. Advisory Board of the Architecture Dialogues Committee, 2019-present. Yale Alumni Assoc; delegate Yale School of Architecture 2013-2016. Founding chair of International Yale Day of Service project for Architects;THE ARCHITECT IS IN, 2013-present + + + Launch of the WOMEN ARCHITECTS are EVERYWHERE 1MIN Student Film Project, 2019, sponsored by ArchiteXX, International project to create 1 to 2-minute student films about women architects. This project will continue the efforts to write women into architectural history, this time via video.
