Matthew Devine is an environmental educator and researcher inspired by Permaculture, Bioregionalism, and Ecological Design perspectives. In addition to an academic career in Sustainability Science and Environmental Psychology Matthew has spent the past 10 years working as gardener and landscape designer in NYC. His current research is focused on exploring techniques of enculturation within the contemporary Permaculture movement. In general, his interests are focused on better-understanding pro-environmental behavioral motivations, and bringing a critical consciousness to contemporary relationships with community and nature. Matthew is also an accomplished jazz saxophone player and can be found playing with his avant-garde jazz trio throughout NY, on a regular basis.
