When I retired as an editorial director for children's books at HarperCollins, I began to appreciate picture books in a new way. Author-illustrator Steve Henry and I began working to develop a course for illustrators trying to find their voice in picture books. My own interest in art is wide-ranging, and this class lets me share favorites such as Ludwig Bemelmans and Crockett Johnson, and it leads me to discover new wonders, including Tao Nyeu and Christian Robinson. I've had two one-man shows in Northern Westchester and been in group shows at the Mehu gallery in NYC. My images have been featured in MM&S, a magazine devoted to monoprints, and my portrait of Mick Jagger appeared in Palette.
