Kim Nguyen is a doctoral student at City University of New York in the Critical Social and Personality Psychology program. She graduated from the Human Development and Social Intervention Master's program at New York University (NYU) and my research interests are in gender studies (particularly masculinity), child development within sociohistorical and cultural contexts, social justice with a critical lens, group dynamics, and political war trauma. I’m interested in the different ways that we are dehumanized by social injustices and how this disrupts our ability to connect with one another (and ourselves) and therefore, heal from war trauma. Prior to her work in psychology, Kim was an English teacher in Vietnam and a cook in Spain and Los Angeles. Kim was also the project manager for PACH.org, a think-and-do tank based at NYU and currently works at the Morton Deutsch International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution at Teachers College Columbia University.
