Alexis Karl received her MFA at The New York Academy of Art, Graduate School of Figurative Art, and BFA at Cornell University. Karl is a regular lecturer on historical and contemporary fashion, cosmetics, fragrance and art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Morbid Anatomy Museum. She has taught college and graduate art history and fashion history, multimedia art and figurative oil painting at The Ashcan Studio of Art in conjunction with SVA, and is a professor of The Art of Perfume ( using fragrance as an artistic medium), at School of Visual Arts. Karl is a multimedia artist , musician and perfumer- founder of Scent By Alexis and co-founder of House of Cherry Bomb. She has exhibited her paintings, multimedia and performance works both in NYC, Italy and UK; most notably at The Whitney Biennial, Guggenheim Museum, Corcoran Museum of Art, and Morbid Anatomy Museum. Her work as an artist, lecturer and perfumer has been featured in New York Times -Women in The World , The NY Post, London Times, Art News, ARCO Japan, various blogs, radio and television spots.
