Biography

Ted Ehrhardt has been a dance therapist at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn for 27 years. In the early 80s he discovered that movement could be expressive and that his body moving could be his teacher. That insight led him to the Laban/Bartenieff Institute for Movement Studies for a certificate in Laban Movement Analysis, and then to Hunter College for a MA in dance/movement therapy. He has participated as a movement analyst in psychoanalytic research at New York University and in forensic research at John Jay College for Dr. Martha Davis. At Woodhull he has supervised dance therapists on staff and student interns. His work has been featured in Moving Stories, a video produced by the New York chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association and in Dance Therapy and Mental Illness, a video produced by the American Dance Therapy Association. He teaches at Pratt Institute and The Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies He also teaches in a program introducing dance therapy in China sponsored by Inspirees International.
