Erin Barsan is the Program Coordinator of the Digital Preservation Outreach & Education Network (DPOE-N): a network of training resources available to cultural heritage professionals nationwide to enhance their digital preservation knowledge and skills with a significant outreach and recruitment component, generously funded by the Mellon Foundation and led by the Pratt Institute School of Information in collaboration with the Moving Image Archiving & Preservation Program at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. As the only person dedicated full-time to the initiative, she oversees the day-to-day operations of DPOE-N and serves on its Board of Directors.
Previously, Erin worked as Consultant specializing in Archives & Collections Information at Small Data Industries—helping her clients (museums, art collectors, artists, and foundations) solve problems preventing them from meeting their missions of preservation. In 2017, Erin was one of four emerging professionals selected for the National Digital Stewardship Residency (NDSR) Art program, where she led a yearlong project to improve the stewardship of time-based media art at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. In addition to DPOE-N, Erin also currently serves on the Program Committee for the annual meeting of the Preservation and Archiving Special Interest Group (PASIG).
