Jill Hamberg is an urban planning consultant specializing in applied research, evaluation and policy analysis in the fields of housing, homelessness and community needs assessment. She taught for several decades at New York City area colleges, including 19 years at Empire State College, part of the State University of New York, and is now a visiting professor at Pratt Institute. She has experience in providing technical assistance to community-based organizations and prepared a research guide for community organizing. She also worked at universities in Latin America for four years, which included technical assistance to squatter settlements. She has written extensively on Cuba’s housing and urban planning policies.
